A Simple Guide to Common Installation Questions
Installing NewLook Decorative Concrete Stains is easy when you understand how the product works. Here are the most common questions people ask during installation and what you need to know before getting started.
Why Do I Have to Re-broom the Original Solid Color Stain?
NewLook’s Original Solid Color Stain uses a special blend of pigments. These pigments must stay suspended during application. Re-brooming keeps the color mixed evenly, so you get the correct shade on your concrete. If you skip this step, the color may come out uneven or lighter than expected.
Can I Spray NewLook Stains?
Yes. You can spray most NewLook stains to create different effects with both Solid Color and Enhancer formulas. The only exception is the Original Color Kit. Its thicker pigments may clog a sprayer nozzle. For that product, stick to brushing or brooming.
How Do I Remove NewLook Stains From Unwanted Areas?
If the stain is still wet, wipe it off right away with a damp towel.
If it has already dried, use NewLook EasyStrip 1000 to remove it. This product is designed to lift dried stains safely without damaging the surface underneath.
I Just Applied NewLook decorative concrete stains, what if the customer changes their mind about the color. Can I re-apply?
Yes, you can reapply a different color once the first coat is completely dry. If a long time has passed between applications, clean the surface again to make sure the new stain bonds well.
Will NewLook Stains Hide Old Blemishes or Spots?
Yes. NewLook Solid Color Stains are made to cover old stains, spots, and blemishes on concrete. In most cases, two coats are enough to create even, consistent coverage.
Will NewLook Decorative Concrete Stains Hide Repaired Areas?
Yes. These stains blend color across old concrete and any new patches. If the texture of the repaired area is different, the finish may look slightly different even though the color matches.
